LOCAL-FIRST SOFTWARE / RESEARCH PILOT

Quote the custom work.
Keep the reasoning.

A quoting workspace for the jobs that don't fit a standard price list—3D prints, CNC parts, engraved goods, props, and one-off fabrication.

Capture the scope. Model labor and machine time. Preserve revisions. Compare estimates against actual costs. Built for independent shops, not enterprise procurement teams.

Early-stage prototype. No public SaaS, customer traction, verified savings, or paid product is claimed.

THE WORKFLOW

A quote is more than a number.

CraftQuote's local pilot connects the pieces that small custom shops often manage separately. The project is still being evaluated through synthetic testing and shop interviews.

01 / INTAKE

Define the real job

Document quantities, materials, dimensions, finish, tolerances, and assumptions before committing to a price.

02 / ESTIMATE

Show your costs

Break out materials, setup labor, machine hours, overhead, retry allowance, and target margin.

03 / REVISIONS

Don't lose the history

Preserve issued quote snapshots when a quantity or customer specification changes. Require a new review for changes.

04 / LEARN

Compare to actuals

Track completion costs and investigate where original time or material assumptions were wrong.

INTERACTIVE SAMPLE

What goes into a price?

Change the fictional inputs to explore a simplified estimate. These numbers are not measured shop costs and cannot replace a real quote.

SAMPLE ONLY / NO DATA UPLOAD

Hypothetical cost inputs

Calculations run only inside this browser. No information is uploaded, saved, or sent to the developer.

WHAT EXISTS TODAY

Tested prototype.
Not a finished SaaS.

CraftQuote currently runs as a local Windows pilot. Its development uses synthetic jobs and isolated QA to verify calculations, quote revision preservation, and local persistence.

Verified in the local pilot

  • Multi-process request categories, including CNC machining/routing
  • Owner-entered CNC setup and per-piece cycle worksheet
  • Revision history and local cost reconciliation workflow
  • Single-device SQLite persistence and rollback testing

Not yet validated

  • Production machining-time accuracy or certified CAM output
  • Paid customer adoption, measured shop savings, or verified revenue
  • Secure multi-user hosting or use with confidential client designs
SHOP OWNER OR QUOTE PREPARER?

Help test the part that matters.

We're looking for brief, voluntary feedback from independent fabrication shops: what slows down estimating, which revisions cause rework, and where current tools fall short. High-level observations are enough—please do not send private drawings, rate sheets, or customer information.

No purchase, paid consulting, installation, ongoing pilot, or commitment is required. No customer data requested.

QUESTIONS & LIMITS

Before you try anything.

Can I buy or subscribe to CraftQuote?

Not through this site. CraftQuote is an early-stage local pilot being evaluated; there is no public checkout or promise of availability.

Does it send quotes or run my machines?

No. Issued revisions are local records, not authenticated external approvals. The quoting pilot does not send emails, collect payments, or operate CNC, laser, or 3D printers.

Can I upload customer jobs here?

No. This public page has no uploads or accounts. The local pilot has not been qualified for confidential customer designs or secure multi-user storage.

Are the prices on this page real?

No. The calculator illustrates simplified pricing arithmetic using made-up values. It is not a machining quote, verified cost prediction, or customer endorsement.
